I picked up a sealed copy for a quarter at a flea market. I am torn - should I open it and play it, or retain it as-is?
Grammy nominated for best spoken word or nonmusical recording during the Grammy awards, back in 1984.
Ground breaking recording that educates, explores the potential and unlimited capabilities of the so called "PC" (personal computer) that was starting to be commercialy available for all households.
Later on, during the same year; an instructional video inspired by this recording was created and released on VHS format.
"Computability" was the visual version with almost the same content and included the same cast.

Although the Casablanca label was known for mass production/pressing of recordings, this recording almost disappear as fast as it came out due to a limited amount for the market since computers weren't that cheap and/or accessible for everyone.

The basis for all computers 40 years later remain the same; they're just faster, with more memory and better programs.
Thanks to the computers, the music industry went in different directions and it allow individual artist to record like a pro; record many instruments without having an orchestra and/or even putting together a song without knowing how to play an instrument or without being able to read musical notes.

Since 1927, TIME Magazine awards the "Man of the Year" award to a Man, Woman or Idea.
In 1982, the computer became the first "object" ever to receive that distinction; but the award was renamed to "Machine of the Year" in deference to the PC.
Funny thing is that history seems to repeat; in 2008, the iPhone was named "Invention of the Year".

Is the Computer the greatest human invention?
